The Journey To Screenwriting – Part One

The year was 2000 and I was so excited to get my feet back in the door of radio…oh, but before I go forward let’s do a flashback.

I had fallen in love with radio while attending Oral Roberts University in the early 80’s, yet due to my restlessness I dropped out of college.  I eventually moved to Detroit, in 1989, to hang with my musician and singer friends. While in the Motor City, I fell back into radio as a sales assistant and performed voice work as well.

With a renewed focus on radio, my path steered me back to Memphis in 1992 and for a good year I enjoyed a nice run.  Yet when it became clear rubbery payroll checks were becoming the norm, I bounced too…right into being a serial temp.  It would be a long six years before I cracked the “mic” again.
